The district-spanning circular route extends between Eching, Neufahrn, Garching and Schleissheim. The themed trail connects three nature reserves: "Echinger Lohe", "Garchinger Heide" and "Mallertshofer Holz mit Heiden". 20 varied stations provide information about the heath landscape, the animal and plant life of the Munich gravel plain, the rich cultural and landscape history, as well as the activities of the Heath Area Association.
The heath path was completed in spring 2005 on the occasion of the BUGA 2005 Munich. The provision of the trail network is kindly supported by the Munich Recreation Area Association e.V.
Note for dog owners: Echinger Lake - dog ban during the bathing season; Mallertshofer Holz - do not leave the paths, do not enter the forests, dogs must be leashed year-round. Garchinger Heide - do not leave the paths, walk bicycles, dog ban
