The circular route (7.3 km) passes old, sacred places and introduces you to regional legends. Discover Germanic worlds, gods, and the sacred rocks around the Ith.
On the way to Bessingen, enjoy a wonderful view west over the “Himdorfer Feld”. There, during a tasting of the sulfur spring water, you will learn not only where the water with its special taste comes from but also hear legendary stories from 1757 about the stolen war chest.
Above the village, a bench invites you to rest before the impressive landscape. On the way to the cliff ridge, hear the legend of Adam and Eve. Once on the ridge path, you reach the pagan cult area around the Fahnenstein via the Falkenstein.
On this gods’ stone, the deity images have recently been rediscovered. From the observation platform, you can look over Coppenbrügge to the Osterwald and, with good visibility, even as far as Hanover. After the steep descent and on the way back to the starting point, learn more about the Devil’s kitchen as a cult cave and a place to which the Pied Piper may possibly have gone.
