Follow in the footsteps of the Irish monk Gallus, who came from Arbon to St. Gallen in 612, where he founded his hermit's cell.
The Gallusweg starts at Arbon train station and then leads along the shore of Lake Constance to Steinach and then more or less along the Steinach through meadows and forests up to St. Gallen. After the impressive section through the Galgentobel, you reach the city of St. Gallen. From here, you reach the heart of the city on beautiful neighborhood streets, to the beginning of the Mühlenenschlucht. Then it goes through the charming lanes of the old town and past the Stiftsbezirk St. Gallen to the main train station, the end point of this hike.
