The Chriesiwäg in Gipf-Oberfrick leads through the beautiful, cherry tree-rich landscape of the Fricktal and conveys interesting facts about cherry cultivation. Various information panels complement the hiking route. The barbecue area, located halfway along the route, invites you not only to rest but also offers a unique view over the Fricktal. Those who want to continue hiking can switch to the additional route from the barbecue area or follow the path back to the village.

    To the short route

Alternative routes: During cherry blossom time (end of March to end of April), the Fricktaler Chriesiwäg is very busy. Therefore, we recommend switching to other routes that also lead through beautiful cherry tree landscapes: www.jurapark-aargau.ch/fruehlingstipps

    Tips and suggestions

Collection card: At some stations, you will find an orienteering puncher. Use it to punch the corresponding field on the collection card. With a fully punched card, you can either get a discount on a cherry sausage or participate in the annual raffle for enjoyment vouchers. Cards are available free of charge on site at the start or can be printed here .

Strollers & Accessibility: The path is suitable for strollers and all-terrain wheelchairs; part of the route runs on natural roads. An all-terrain wheelchair can be rented from Jurapark Aargau.

Fireplace «Farschberg»: On the Chriesiwäg - wood, grate, and seating available.

WC: There are toilets at the Farschberg fireplace and at the church in the village. The toilet at the church is wheelchair accessible.

Parking: There are hardly any public parking spaces in the village of Gipf-Oberfrick. The start of the Chriesiwäg is only a 20-minute walk from Frick train station, so we recommend arriving by public transport.

Bookable offers: A guided hike on the Chriesiwäg with a landscape guide can be booked with or without tasting through Jurapark Aargau.

Dogs: Dogs are warmly welcome on the Chriesiwäg, but please keep your dog on a leash. Just a few meters after the village, deer are often seen in areas far from the forest. The animals are stressed by unleashed dogs, and other many guests on the path and their dogs thank you if you keep your four-legged friend on the leash throughout the entire route.

Jurapark etiquette: Thank you for staying on the path, not walking on the tall grass, taking your rubbish home with you, and not stealing cherries from the trees along the way.
