Čutkovská dolina is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the entire region, not only among the inhabitants of Liptov but also foreign tourists. It is a great place for rest and relaxation in nature, especially sought after by families with children thanks to the children’s amusement park Obrovo. The valley is picturesque along its entire length, which was further enhanced recently by the construction of the Educational Trail Known and Unknown Čutkovská dolina, but the most beautiful part is definitely at its end, by the reservoir and Koliba u Dobrého pastiera. There are also good accommodation, dining, and parking options, as well as sufficient public bus connections to the town of Ružomberok.

The route is more demanding due to its length. However, you will appreciate a beautiful walk in the heart of nature in Liptov. From Malinné, you will have a wonderful view of Liptov, and Čutkovská dolina will lead you to beautiful spots with waterfalls and gorges. Information panels will tell you more about the natural attractions.

Roadbook
You start the route in the center of Ružomberok – at Andrej Hlinka Square and follow the red trail towards the local calvary. Here you connect to the blue trail, which continues through the meadows of Vlkolínec to the Malinô Brdo ski resort, where you will face the most challenging ascent of the entire route – a moderate climb to the summit of Malinné (1209 m above sea level), from which there are beautiful panoramic views of Ružomberok, the Chočské vrchy mountains, the Western Tatras, and, in good weather, the High Tatras as well. From Malinné, the route continues along the blue trail through the Sedlo pod Vtáčnikom pass, descending to Čutkovská dolina and around the Chata pod Kozím hut to its end.

Public transport
Andrej Hlinka Square, where the starting point of the route is located, is accessible on foot from the bus or train station in Ružomberok, and there is also a local public transport stop here. At the end of the route, the nearest public transport stop is only 5 minutes from the end of Čutkovská dolina, right by the main road. The availability of public transport connections back to Andrej Hlinka Square or the bus station is sufficient.
Parking
Parking options are also very good; you can park for free along the entire Andrej Hlinka Square and also for free at the parking lot near Koliba u Dobrého pastiera at the end of the route.
