Discover the historic village square and the Celtic power place in Mogelsberg in Toggenburg.
The Paritätische Church and the inns Rössli and Löwen form the attractive village square of Mogelsberg. The cultural route leads down to the Necker, which is crossed on a covered wooden bridge. In the village of Necker, factory buildings point to its former significance as a site of the textile industry. Above the hamlet of Ebersol was the Salen castle, which was documented in a deed from 1242. The Salenbad (now Spitzbad) was first mentioned in 1224 and was said to be a deep-lying sulfur spring with healing properties. On the return route to Mogelsberg, the cultural route leads to the "Heilig Hain," whose name suggests a romantic origin. Tree circles symbolized protection for the Celts and were considered power places.
