The tour takes us from Rosenalp past the Marian chapels Tronsberg and Kalzhofen. Then it goes back to Oberstaufen via the Bartholomew chapel in Zell.
From the hotel we walk up the “Lohacker” until we reach Bürgermeister-Hertlein-Straße. There we turn right into the street, cross the intersection, and reach Immenstädter Straße, which we follow to the outskirts of town.
We follow the street and turn left toward Kalzhofen, where we can visit the chapel Maria Immaculata 1 in the St. Maria children's home. The chapel is open during the day from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It was only built in its current form in 1906 after a family living there transferred all their property to the Franciscans of Dillingen. Nevertheless, the church contains some older pieces gathered from existing chapels. Particularly interesting for visitors is the altar, originally from 1710 and located in the parish church of Postmünster, as well as the seated Madonna from the Oberstaufen parish church dating from the 14th century. The further hike takes us uphill on Meeraustraße, past the hotel “Haubers Gutshof,” into the picturesque Schwarzenbachtal. We cross the golf course and reach the village of Zell with its magnificent chapel of St. Bartholomew 2 after a short forest path.
The St. Bartholomew chapel in Zell is significantly older than the chapel in Kalzhofen and traces its roots back to the 14th century. It holds a valuable collection of art treasures for visitors. Among them is the main altar by the Allgäu artist Hans Striegel from 1442.
The return route takes us from Zell to Buflings. There we can refresh ourselves in Café Silberbühl before walking back along the sidewalk to Oberstaufen.
Upon arrival, we follow Isnyer Straße for a bit more until we can turn left again onto Bürgermeister-Hertlein-Straße and soon reach Hotel Rosenalp once more.
