The Alsenborn Life Path was jointly created by the Catholic parish community and the Protestant church community of Alsenborn. The focus is on deceleration and inner reflection. Different life situations are represented in twelve stations in existing elements in nature.
On a path, we cannot just quickly pass through; generally, we must walk. However, it also offers a certain safety. Something can’t happen to us. We do not encounter life where it is loudly proclaimed or where the solution to all problems is announced — we encounter it when we allow ourselves to engage with it.
We would like to invite you to this: On the outer path of hiking, we embark on the inner path of meditation.
UFFBASSE! - Campaign for considerate coexistence in nature
Always behave proactively, kindly, and considerately toward everyone you meet on the way.
Respect nature, do not destroy plants, and always stay on the paths. Try to avoid excessive noise and leave the forest before dusk.
Remember a trash bag for on the way and take waste back home with you.
Please always keep your dog on a leash. Other visitors and animals will thank you.
For your own safety, observe all trail closures, even on weekends.
Park only in designated parking areas. Leave space for emergency vehicles and agricultural machinery.
Please give priority to agricultural and forestry traffic.
Author’s recommendation
- Plan some time to stay at the labyrinth: it offers the opportunity for meditation with over a kilometer of walking distance.
- The long table of togetherness also offers larger groups the opportunity to stay together.

Grinnerhof CafeSafety information
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground can conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. After thunderstorms or rainstorms, trees may still fall or branches may drop afterward. Especially in adverse weather conditions, natural trails can have muddy and slippery sections. Not all rocks or cliffs are secured with ropes or railings. Surefootedness is required in places. You must expect this kind of trail impairment when hiking. If you consider any section of the path to be impassable for you, you should bypass it.
NOTE:
We strive to announce all closures caused by forest work or hunting societies on this platform. Nevertheless, there are situations where trails are closed and we may not have been informed. If you unexpectedly encounter a trail closure or detour, please observe the instructions for your own safety.

Equipment
For our hiking routes, we recommend the following standard equipment:
- Sturdy footwear
- Clothing adapted to the weather
- Sun and rain protection
- A sufficient supply of food and drinks, as not everywhere offers dining or shopping options or they may be closed.
- Even though the paths are very well marked throughout, it is advisable for safety reasons to always carry a suitable hiking map, so that, for example, you can quickly find a safe area in the event of a thunderstorm or emergency.
