Doctor's Chapel:
Built in 1950 by the Vigener doctor family and consecrated in 1951, the chapel has recently been refurbished to a new shine. The inscription "Quo vadis!" on the front side asks us "Where are you going?"
Schärfl Cross:
Built in 1982 by carpenter Gottfried Sanftl from Stetten, following a vow by Alfons Otter.
Chapel building in Kottersberg:
Presumably built around 1840 along with the house. The interior includes a four-part image showing the scourged Savior, Mary with the child, St. Martin, and St. John of Nepomuk.
Gäch (Reima) Chapel:
This chapel was erected in gratitude for the healing of Michael Gäch's serious leg infection in 1952.
Author’s recommendation
From the small hill next to the chapel building in Kottersberg, you can see all the way to Ebersberg across the entire Ebrachtal valley. After the walk, you should also take a look inside the beautiful St. Nikolaus Church in Albaching.
Please wear appropriate hiking shoes that provide sufficient support even on uneven, steep, or rocky paths.
Especially in autumn, be aware that fallen leaves on the ground may conceal unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path.
Roadbook
The circular route begins at the maypole heading towards Doktorberg. But before crossing the Nasenbach bridge, we take a few steps to the brook widening and prepare ourselves for the hike with a view of the watercourse. Then we walk up the sidewalk beside Doktorberg and at the top switch onto the new left-side sidewalk to the Doctor’s Chapel. The path continues over the district road to the bench at Harasser Hölzl, inviting a short rest. After briefly pausing at the Schärfl Cross, erected in 1982, we continue and stop at the chapel building in Kottersberg. Now in sight are the water tanks of Edling and Wasserburg. Those who do not want to miss the beautiful view over the Ebrachtal valley all the way up to Ebersberg can walk on the right side past the water reservoir to the small hill. Then we hike—leaving the hamlet GRasweg on the right—first past the Gäch (Reima) Chapel and head east towards Utzenbichl. In the middle of the slope or the paved path, we enjoy the Alpine panorama from the bench under the oaks. Then we go back and visit the Gäch (Reima) Chapel. Afterwards, we follow the once frequently used path to the farmsteads Kurzstett, Reimair, and Bergmeier. We follow this through the forest until just before the recycling center. About 100 meters before, we look for the "Zimmermeister-Bankerl" standing like a leaning hand with an unobstructed view of the Buchenweg/Diebergweg settlement and the "Oibichna" Church. Afterwards, we walk on the sidewalk over the "Kreuzwir-Kreisel" to Betzel-Billa, then shortly before, turn into Angerweg. After about 50 m, at the painted water hydrant, we walk along the "Wegerl" to come via the Nasenbach "Brügerl" to the brook widening at the village pond. Then we are back at the starting point at the maypole. We use the village pond footbridge to conclude with a highlight, the view of the village island.
