The series of the nine so far "Solothurn Forest Walks" is a success story. Spread across the entire canton area, the themed trails show the variety and importance of the forest in their respective cultural landscapes. With the participation of the Solothurn government, the route over the Born hill range was opened in spring 2019 near Olten. The Born – which means "elevation" – is a popular recreation area in the Olten region and also a forest reserve. Together with the Engelberg it forms the southernmost elevation of the folded Jura. The (Malm limestone) rocks come from marine sediments of the Jurassic period. These are exposed in the Klus of Aarburg, originally formed by the Wigger and only since the Ice Age flowed through by the Aare. There are numerous barbecue areas along the path.
