Simmering

Route: From the parking lot, head southwest, ascend on the toboggan run to Zwischensimmering and past the hunting lodge to a hairpin bend. Then at 1390 m (signpost) turn off onto the Harnersteig. The path climbs in wide serpentine loops more on the Inn Valley side of the Simmering. At about 1660 m, it crosses the forest road (signposted) and passes a wayside cross. The path runs to the forest clearing just before the Hubertus hunting lodge (1720 m) and continues northeast until it joins a hairpin bend (1790 m). Before the Simmeringalm, climb westwards over open alpine meadows and rolling terrain to the summit with the summit cross (2096 m). Descent: From the summit, follow the ascent path at first until the wide alpine meadow opens out. From here, go over to the frozen pond (cross), then down to the Simmeringalm (1813 m).
