Schütternsteig

Route: From the car park at the Gh. Maria Waldrast, walk past the monastery church towards the Schwarzwald and past the start of the Stations of the Cross to a small bridge at around 1680 m, which is crossed. Now proceed with a pleasant ascent into the forest. At Station VIII of the Stations of the Cross, the two paths (Stations of the Cross and Schütternsteig) meet; soon afterwards the Chapel of the Finding (1740 m) is reached, from where you follow the signposted "Gleinser Mähder." Slightly descending, go through the wooded section down to about 1700 m. You then walk a short stretch on the wide forest road to the next junction (signpost). Here keep left and ascend slightly to the open meadows of the "Kasern." The further path leads along or crossing the fence to the hunting hut and the "swamp" on the Gleinser Steig uphill.
