Easy ascent to Sambock on the sunny side of the Pustertal.
Route by Raimund Gietl. Starting directly from the hamlet Kofl, follow marker 66 uphill via the old alpine path towards Sambock. You will frequently cross a forest path but should not follow it. Above an altitude of 1900 m, the forest thins and you will cross the first alpine meadows uphill. Shortly thereafter, you reach the small, old "Geiger Hut." Cross the meadow diagonally to the right, but be careful not to leave it by the diagonal clearing. Instead, stay along the forest edge following the marking of the Pfunderer Höhenweg "red dot in white circle" (also marker 66), cross the sparse wood to the north and overcome a short, somewhat steeper slope. Now the terrain levels out again and soon the summit cross of Sambock greets you. The view from this rather inconspicuous summit is simply overwhelming. You will soon give up trying to count the numerous peaks! Descent from Sambock: same as ascent.
