One of the most popular summit routes in the Seckauer Tauern for several reasons:
With an elevation gain of around 670m from the Roßbach parking lot (1254m), the summit can be reached in less than 2 hours. Navigation is not too difficult, so the route can also be done in less than optimal
weather conditions.
Rosenkogel also offers various descent options.
From Rosenkogel, you can also combine Lahneck if you have the necessary stamina.

Ascent: approx. 670m elevation gain, about 2.9 miles
From the Roßbach parking lot (1254m) heading west along the Roßbach valley towards Sommertörl (1644m). The road is closed to traffic in winter. After about 1.1 miles, at the first hairpin bend, leave the road and climb straight up through the forest.
Continue past the summer hut (1570m) heading northwest to Sommertörl (1644m). Then continue north along the ridge up to the summit of Rosenkogel (1918m).
Over the east-facing summit slope to the Lorettokapelle
(1817m) and further along a forest road to the ascent route at Sommertörl (1644m). From here, follow the forest road back to the starting point.
