La Dôle

At La Chenalette near St-Cergue, the tour climbs, first in a southerly direction through forest aisles and then along a road to the hilltop of the Dôle, La Barillette, off to the east. Here there is an antenna visible from afar. The landmark of the area, however, is the spherical building from the summit of La Dôle. It houses an observatory, weather station, airspace monitoring and radio and television transmitters. This also makes it easy to find the way to the summit ridge. The view is boundless
For the descent, the southern couloir to the Chalet de la Dôle is used. This is followed by a short counter-ascension. The section over Le Vuarne makes the conclusion of this varied round tour.
