The snowshoe hike leads to Hochnall on the southern edge of the Rieserferner group in the Puster Valley.
Route by Raimund Gietl. At the parking lot, cross the road and follow the path (Pyramidenweg) to the right into the forest. After about 20 minutes, at the beginning of a meadow (signposts), the path marked 16A branches off to the left. Now follow this path – and partly the forest road – through the forest up to the flattening of Gönner Alm. (If the path is too steep, you can also use the forest road for the entire ascent.) In the alpine clearing, hike left along the fence up to the hunting hut and from there further uphill to the right (marking 6). Cross the open terrain towards the northeast, cross two pasture fences, and gain the ridgeline to the right. From there, the summit cross on the slightly shaped, hill-like Hochnall can already be seen. Over easy terrain, reach the day’s goal in a short time and enjoy the wonderful panoramic view of the Antholz Valley, the Rieserferner group, and the Dolomites. Descent from Hochnall: same as ascent.
