We drive to the Burggräfler Sonnenberg, to Hafling. Here at the junction to Falzeben (opposite the gas station) we drive up a few hundred meters until we turn into Forrigasse in Oberdorf and drive to the Mittelberghöfe. Here you should park the car so that it does not obstruct anyone. Best to park in front of the farms and then continue on foot. At the Mittelberghöfe, follow the Almbach upward, following marker no. 15, then turn left until about 15 minutes later you reach a junction and follow path no. 15A, the old alpine trail, which climbs through dense forest towards Maiser Alm. After another half hour, we reach Maiser Alm. Above the Alm, follow path no. 15 towards Kreuzjöchl, which we reach after about 40 minutes. Left of us greets the snow-covered Ifinger and the sun-drenched Meran 2000 ski resort. From Kreuzjöchl you can go further up to the top of Spieler to the left and also stop at the Meraner Hut. However, today our path leads us right from Kreuzjöchl on the long-distance trail E5 to the viewing platform, which we reach after another half hour. Here there is not only a 360° viewpoint, but also an installation that explains the surrounding peaks. From afar greet the Geißler, the Rosengarten, the Mendel, the Brenta mountains, the Ultner 3000ers sparkling. The Ortler glaciers in the distance, the Texel group and behind us again the Ifinger. In winter with clear weather, the peaks are even more beautiful and the panorama is stunning. Unfortunately, the icy wind is also stunning, which soon pushes us downwards towards Vöraner Alm. Vöraner Alm lies optimally in the sun, as does the Wurzer Alm, which we reach about 20 minutes later. Here we take a break and refresh ourselves with an oversized homemade chestnut cake, which is a meal in itself. The Wurzer Alm was not awarded as the most beautiful alpine hut in 2014 for nothing. The calories we have taken in here do not bother us, as we burned enough on this snowshoe hike. Happily we leave Wurzer Alm again, following path 2A downwards. Attention: at the Hafling junction, we turn from the forest road onto forest path no. 1 steeply downhill until we reach the starting point after about 40 minutes. Impressed by this panoramic hike, we decide to repeat it again in summer.

Safety information
Although the snowshoe hike is considered safe, always consult the avalanche report. Warm clothing and enough provisions are recommended, as it can be quite drafty on windy days and you can cool down quickly. If the alpine pastures are closed, a warm tea brought along and a snack from your backpack are comforting.Tips and suggestions

In Oberdorf turn right into Forrigasse until you reach the last farm (Mittelberghöfe).Parking
There is very little parking at the Mittelberghöfe, so it is best to park beforehand at the roadside by the stream.Coordinates

Equipment
Even if snowshoes are not always necessary in some places, it is advisable to wear spikes under your shoes, as ice is often hidden under the leaf-covered ground. Bring a change of clothes as well.Localization
