A snowshoe route through lonely alpine terrain and open forests, where we only encounter ski tourers in the first third. From the Gaviser Höhe, we have a beautiful panoramic view over the Mellental, the ski tour mountains of the Laternsertal and Damüls, extending to the Rätikon, the Alpstein, and the Churfirsten.

    Roadbook

We start from the ample parking facilities around Gasthof Bädle along Furkastrasse over the bridge and then turn left into Garnitztal. After the end of the first ascent along the Garnitzabach, we turn right off the hiking trail and climb 120 meters up to the end of the open area. Through short forest sections and clearings parallel to the ski track, we reach the forest road. Here we leave the ski track and follow the forest road up to Gävisalpe.

On the way back, we can alternatively follow the forest road to Furkastrasse, then walk comfortably along the road back to the starting point.
