This hike in the forested area of the Fischbach Alps takes us to a legendary place: the Devil's Stone. The legend tells of Lucifer's failed attempt to build a tower from the earth to the sky. Well, Lucifer was able to stack a total of three stones with a total height of 6 meters on top of each other, but no further. In any case, this open area with the distinctive rock weathering has a very special character, and the Celts probably already used this stone as a calendar stone. The view is also legendary and stretches from the Mürz Valley Alps across the Hochschwab group to the Graz mountain region. Many hikers visit this place year-round, but one day a year a special event takes place here: the hike to the winter solstice on the Devil's Stone. Depending on the snow situation, participants march on the Sunday before Christmas Eve with or without snowshoes to the Devil's Stone to experience the sunrise here. In the truest sense of the word, a »legendary« snowshoe hike.

On the open area where we can enjoy the view, the distinctive rock formation and a summit cross greet us. Both the stone and the summit itself are called Devil's Stone, 1498 m. After reaching the highest point just under 1500 m, we head west and come immediately to a large meadow area. After the meadow, we go down a forest trail to the left to the elevation of 1415 m. Here, there is the option to significantly shorten the tour and take the path directly down to the
