The Chimmispitz or Chemispitz is a rather inconspicuous peak on the northern ridge of the Calanda. Due to its easy accessibility from the mountain village of St. Margrethenberg and its expansive views, it is popular with snowshoers in winter. Even on the ridge hike to the summit, you have a wonderful view of the mighty Pizol and the peaks of the Prättigau on the opposite Rhine Valley side. The summit is less suitable for ski tours because the ridge is quite flat and repeatedly has short uphill sections. For snowshoe tours, the Chimmispitz is a perfect half-day destination! On the way back, you can stop by the sunny terrace of the Golerberg ski hut.
