The face is dusted with snow, the tip of the nose shines red and the broad grin on the face is hard to miss. In Weißbriach, winter lovers await a three-kilometer-long toboggan run. And what's the icing on the cake for the toboggan trip? An authentic hut evening at the Berggeist hut, before speeding back down to the valley!

Roadbook
To get to the Berggeist hut, the starting point of the toboggan run, we follow the winter hike Berggeist hut. The starting point is the Hammerboden lift parking lot at the Weißbriach cable cars. Just below the valley station of the Hammerboden lift, the signposted forest path begins. In snow and ice conditions, it is advisable to put on shoe spikes, which ensure a secure ascent. After about one hour of walking, we reach the Max-Franz slope, which we only need to cross to reach the Berggeist hut.
Anyone who wants can refresh themselves at the Berggeist hut after the short hike.
We ride the toboggan down the illuminated toboggan run back to the valley.
The starting point of the Berggeist toboggan run is the Berggeist hut. It is located directly on the "Max Franz" ski slope in the middle of the Weißbriach ski area. The toboggan run is over 3 km long and runs over a groomed forest path to Weißbriach. In the evening, the toboggan run is illuminated.
A leisurely walk uphill enhances the anticipation of the descent.
Those who want to save their strength can use the "hut taxi." This takes guests to the hut for a fee and by prior arrangement.

- Opening hours of the toboggan run: Monday to Thursday until 5:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 10:00 p.m., Sunday until 9:00 p.m.

From Villach, take the train to Hermagor. From there, bus line 5066 runs to Weißbriach.
By plane
The nearest airport is in Klagenfurt.
Airport transfer rides are possible via Gitschtalreisen Wastian and Mobilbüro Hermagor.
