A long but not boring sledding route at the edge of the Inn valley winds through many curves in the forest. It begins at the idyllically located high alpine pasture Hohe Asten. The small church Petersberg is another highlight that we should not miss. However, for this, we have to briefly leave the route and our sled.
We can stop at the mountain inn Hohe Asten (1108 m) before sledding back down.
This route is not necessarily suitable for inexperienced sledders.

Between the valley and Petersberg the route can quickly ice over due to the shady location, so utmost caution is advised!
Ascent and descent take place on the same path, so watch out for oncoming sledders or people on the trail. Supply traffic can also come towards us.
Roadbook
Starting from the parking lot, we soon reach the switchbacks, which we follow uphill through the mountain forest in a promising slope. On the left is the Falkenstein castle ruin. After about 30 minutes on the way, we reach a small chapel. After another ten minutes, a clearing interrupts the forest; here we turn left to Petersberg. We leave the sled at this short detour on site, preferably secured with a lock. At the church, we pause briefly and take in the view over the Alpine foothills. Back at our sled, we soon pass the "Bauer am Berg" alpine pasture, which is located on an alpine meadow. We follow the forest path along the slope; at the fork, we orient ourselves according to the signs towards "Hohe Asten." We ignore the alpine hut on the right, come out of the forest again, and take the path to the mountain inn located slightly above, which we reach in a few minutes.
Sitting on the sled, we descend in a wide curve until the forest begins. We sled with momentum and at a good speed to the Petersberg junction; from this point on, we pay special attention to icy spots that can lead to dangerous falls. We still take the switchbacks at the end, then brake in time to end our sledding tour safely.
