Beautiful ski tour at a high altitude. Still mostly suitable in spring. Wonderful, secluded landscape with remarkable views from the summit. Somewhat shorter and easier than the much more frequented ski tour to Zwieselbacher Rosskogel (3,081 m) in this area, which lies a bit south of the Weitkarspitze.
The tour starts in Haggen at the climbers' parking lot (after the bridge). Then it goes southeast into the Kraspestal. The path follows along the summer trail towards Kraspessee. Leave it on the left and then ascend in a large right curve to the Weitkarspitze.
Author’s recommendation
A descent west of the Kraspessees is also possible, but this is only recommended at avalanche level 1.
Those still with plenty of energy can also ski down west of the Kraspessee and ascend to the Kraspesspitze at an altitude of about 2600 m to the west.
With a bit of luck, the cozy inn in Haggen https://www.bergoase.at/ is open. A stopover is recommended.
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.

The tour starts in Haggen at the climbers' parking lot (after the bridge). It passes the Schärmer Alm heading southeast into the Kraspestal – fairly flat. At the first terrain step, if possible, proceed through the "Lower Zwing" along the stream to the next level. If this is not possible, you can also overcome the terrain step on the ascent path to the right via the summer trail. Once you reach the alpine plateau "Hallehn," continue in a left curve behind the "Muggenbichl" and then east towards the "Upper Zwing." Ascend through the "Upper Zwing" and then keep slightly right in the ascent direction. You walk parallel to the mountain ridge rising to the left (as you ascend) up to about 2660 m, then turn right towards the Weitkarspitze.
