There are many rewarding ski mountaineering destinations in Langtauferertal, where on many routes you can avoid the large crowds of winter sports enthusiasts and often be on your own. The ski mountaineering route to Weißseespitze is a longer but rewarding route. On site, depending on the assessment, the steeper slopes can also be avoided by an alternative ascent.

Secure snow conditions must be present, steep slopes must be critically assessed.

    Roadbook

The route starts directly with skis in Melag. From there you follow about one kilometer along the cross-country ski trail and shortly after the bridge turn left onto approximately 25° steep slopes. The following slopes are crossed towards the “Inner Schäferhütte” and thus enter the large, wide valley. After about two kilometers comes the next steep slope of about 25°-30° over which you reach the Valginferner glacier. From here you can already see the summit. You head for the left notch and then reach the summit via the west ridge. The descent follows the ascent route.
