Mönchsjoch Hut: http://www.moenchsjoch.chRoadbook
From the upper station at the Jungfraujoch, ascend slightly 200m on the groomed, wide track along the south flank of the Mönch to the Mönchsjoch Hut. From the upper Mönchsjoch, ski down at a moderate gradient into the upper basin of the Ewigschneefäld and cross flat to the orographically left edge of the glacier. At about 3400m, skin up. Ascend crossing eastwards the hump-like steep drop of the Walcher Glacier; shortly afterwards the firn surface flattens. In a few long hairpin turns ascend northwards to the southwest ridge and cross out to the right below the summit rocks again. A saddle east of the summit is easily reached, now the summit can be reached without problems with skis on the flat firn fields between the gentle rocks on the left.
Descend over the wide southern slopes down to the Ewigschneefäld. Skin up again. 300m of ascent against slope to the upper Mönchsjoch on mostly tracked paths still have to be managed.
