From the Vertainspitze the Königsspitze and Ortler are in view.
The starting point is the parking lot above the valley station of the cable car by the civil protection building (1929 m). To the left of the retaining wall of the Rosimbach into the valley. Since the lower part is narrow and mostly filled by a large avalanche, in spring a trail to the left of the stream is used, which is mostly snow-free up to 2160 m where the valley widens. Now simply follow the valley in the middle always upwards until reaching a plateau (2900 m) left below an icefall. Starting left from this plateau, you reach a steep slope and over this to the right onto the glacier (3050 m). Now flat towards the Rosimjoch, staying on the left edge of the glacier (caution: crevasses to the right!). Before the pass at about 3200 m a ramp leads above a rock on the left below the southeast ridge of the Vertainspitze. Briefly steep to the right onto this ridge and continue along it. The summit is visible quite far behind. At 3340 m over a large ramp flat to the left below the ridge
