Valbenairspitze

Starting point is the parking lot of Melag (1950 m). Over the cross-country ski trail in about 0:30 h to the Melager Alm (1970 m). On the summer path mark no. 5 towards Planailscharte until you come out of the forest. Now straight up across open terrain to a small plateau (2322 m, point on the map). You now go slightly right into the Rotebental and over this – getting steeper at the top – to the saddle (3100 m) between the Valbenairspitze on the right and the Rotebenkopf on the left. From the saddle, go forward a little and then right over stepped terrain up to below the forepeak. There possibly ski depot or, with enough snow, over the forepeak to the summit a bit further left in the back, with a cairn and wooden pole. Descent: same as ascent
