The easiest route in the Matscher Valley leads to the Upikopf.
The starting point is the parking lot at Gasthof Glieshof (1824 m). From Glieshof, go up across the meadow to a fence gap. There, take the forest path over the Ramudelgraben to the other side of the valley and on the path, somewhat steeply into the Upital. Flat towards the valley through the Upialm (2225 m). Continue straight ahead until the valley is blocked by a rock barrier. On the left of this, go up to the next flat area. Along the left edge towards the valley until a basin opens up, into which you enter flatly. Now you can see the further ascent, which continues over moderately steep slopes and humps. You aim for the Pleisenjöchl (3111 m) located to the right of the summit. Shortly before the Jöchl, head diagonally left to the summit. Descent: same as ascent
