Two easy ski tour summits between the Rhine and Seez valleys (WS).
Tschugga and Gonzen are the southernmost two summits of the Alvier chain and two easy ski tour destinations. Gonzen, as the last summit of the chain, offers an incomparable deep view into the Rhine valley. From Tschugga, on the other hand, you have a better view of the Seez valley with Lake Walen. There is rarely enough snow for a direct ascent from Trübbach in the Rhine valley, which is why the former Hotel Alvier is now usually used as the starting point. The descent there is not as nice as the one to Trübbach. Thus, this tour is more suitable for landscape lovers and snowshoe hikers and is rarely crowded. On weekends, the Skihaus Gauschla is open for a stopover.
