The starting point for the tour is the car park in the rear Weißenbach Valley, which branches off from the Ahrntal near Luttach. First, proceed along a forest road through the Trattenbach Valley past the Trattenalm to the Gögealm. From here, a wide valley leads northwards where, after a short ascent, the almost flat marsh is reached and then proceed directly to the Trattenjoch. In the last section, keep more to the right, directly below the summit of the 5th Hornspitze. The descent follows the ascent route.
