Take avalanche transceiver equipment, check the avalanche report (LWD Bayern)

Roadbook
From the valley station of the Taubensteinbahn, you go up the former ski slope. The first part is relatively steep and mostly quite rutted, so it is a bit strenuous at first. But it gets better later. Soon the lift comes into view again and you follow it uphill for a while. Then comes a fairly flat section where it even goes down a bit. This is a bit annoying on the descent but not very long. Afterwards, you reach the last big slope. Here it is best to follow the left ropes and walk underneath them up to the summit station. Straight ahead leads to the Taubensteinhaus, to the right up to the Gipfelstüberl. From there a little further you reach the Taubenstein summit, where you reach the summit cross with easy climbing.
A stop at the Gipfelstüberl is worthwhile – here you can refresh yourself for the descent and occasionally join the regulars’ table for ski tourers.
Descent like ascent – the summit slope is quite nice to ski, the lowest part mostly quite bumpy and rutted. Avalanche danger is generally rated as low, but you should still carry avalanche transceiver equipment and check the current avalanche report.
