The southwest-exposed ascent from Zauchensee to the scenic Strimskogel is moderately steep and not too long.
First on the forest road to the Strimsalms, then on finely undulating slopes to the south ridge and over this somewhat steeper to the summit cross of the Strimskogel.
Author’s recommendation
Due to the dwarf pine slopes, a high snow level is desirable.

Roadbook
From the car park, go back a short distance, then turn right onto the service road (sledding track) passing a few houses, ascending in several switchbacks through the forest (do not shortcut anymore!) up to the Strimsalm. The sparsely wooded alpine pasture area is now well structured; we climb step by step in a wide left curve to the saddle left of the Taxlalmkogel. Now continue clearly left of the escarpment on the summer path northwards in steps until the signpost below the summit. The final ascent to the nearby summit cross is steeper, the track is laid out to the right of the west ridge (if blown bare, then on foot).
Descent along the ascent route or slightly to the right in the wide hollow.
