Easy and snow-safe ski tour on a simple 3000-meter peak in the Wildstrubel area (WS-).
The Steghorn is somewhat lower than the well-known Wildstrubel but offers an equally comprehensive view of the Valais 4000-meter peaks. The route is one of the easiest in the area and for the crevice-poor Steghorn glacier you do not even need to take glacier equipment. The broad summit slope also offers plenty of space for pleasurable turns for ski touring beginners. The only tricky part is the steep step between Lämmerenboden and Lämmerenhütte – here you should have crampons in your pack for safety! Thanks to a starting altitude of over 2300 m, the route is still snow-safe even in spring.
