Beginner-friendly ski route to a great viewpoint mountain in the Radstädter Tauern.
The route starts at the front Gnadenalm (free parking available). Initially, it goes flat for about 2 kilometers downstream to the rear Gnadenalms at 1,326 m. From here, the route leads steadily uphill over open alpine meadows in the direction of the Südwiener Hut (not managed).
Shortly before the hut, the ascent branches off to the left and leads over the southeast ridge in an easy line to the summit cross of the Spirzinger at 2,066 m – an impressive viewpoint over the Radstädter Tauern.
Descent: Along the ascent track or – with safe conditions – alternatively over the open east slope to the Südwiener Hut (1,802 m). The last 2 flat kilometers on the valley floor require either well-running skis or some pushing technique.
