Slope-side ski tour via the Walleggalm to Spieleckkogel
The Walleggalm in Saalbach-Hinterglemm is not only popular with skiers. For ski tourers, there are easy ascent routes close to the slopes around the hut, which can be crowned with a visit to Spieleckkogel. Those who do not want to leave the secured ski storage room can also ascend only to Spieleckkopf at the top station of the Spieleck cable car.
For pedestrians or snowshoe hikers, there is also a beautiful winter hiking trail up to Walleggalm, which is situated in the best viewing position in the winter sun.

From the parking lot either along the access road or shortcutting over the meadows via the road to Walleggalm. If there is enough snow, a track to the parking lot is often groomed. After just under an hour you reach the sunlit Walleggalm. After Walleggalm, follow the edge of the slope for a few altitude meters before you can move to the variant terrain between the slopes.
Through gentle and open forests, it continues uphill for another 500 meters altitude to the Spieleckkogel. Above the tree line, ascend finally leftwards over open terrain and a short ridge to the summit at 1,998 m.
