Ski tour in Alpendorf: Oberalpendorf to Gondelstube

Beautiful through the forest
You start in Oberalpendorf, where you can park at the mountain railways parking lot. The first section goes up on the left side of the piste. If there is enough natural snow, be sure to go up the steep mountain on the left immediately after the start. This saves you the narrow section by the piste. From the Kreistenalm, you then enter the forest. At Kreistenalm, cross the piste and go up to the right behind the small hut. The first section is quite demanding with steep hairpin turns. After that, it gets easier again. The goal is either the Gernkogelalm or you go further to the Buchauhütte. Downhill goes on the very well groomed Alpendorf pistes.
INFO: ski touring on this route is no longer free from 2021. Buy a ticket at the mountain railway. The ticket also serves as a parking ticket.
Author’s recommendation
If it is not icy, the ascent via the "Kniebeisser" is worth it. Steep but worth it :-)

Roadbook
You drive by car through Alpendorf - up to the mountain Oberalpendorf. There is a parking lot below the tunnel for hikers / ski tourers of the mountain railways. Strap on your skis and up you go to the mountain.
Attention: Parking at Stern / Sternhof is no longer allowed.

You travel by train to St. Johann - Alpendorf. There you take the ski bus to Alpendorf.Directions
Via the A 10, the Tauern motorway, Bischofshofen junction, exit Sankt Johann, then on the B 311, the Pinzgau federal road about 5 kilometers, exit Alpendorf St. Johann-South - about 3 km, turn left to Alpendorf, then drive up towards Sternhof. Please do not park directly in front of Sternhof, this is a private parking lot. Below is a parking lot for hikers.Parking
