Almwirt ~1135mTips and suggestions
Place to eat at the Almwirt near the parking lot (towards Hochschwung)Roadbook
From the parking lot at the no-entry sign, walk along the relatively flat and cleared forest road to the Jagdhaus Gulling (approx. 2 km). Then follow the road westward, becoming a bit steeper. At the first bridge (1236m), turn right. Follow the forest road briefly and then ascend straight up to the next forest road (1390m). Follow the forest path, first flat then steep through the forest. Finally, ascend through a gully over rolling terrain.
Numerous good descent options can be found near the ascent track. If the dwarf pines are well covered with snow, a lonely and direct variant slightly east (left of the ridge) of the ascent track is also possible. Shortly before the forest road, there is a small but well-ridable forest section.
