Schüttalkopf

Starting point is the parking lot Kasern, Nature Park House (1600 m); no further driving from here. On the road and the service road to Adleralm (in winter cross-country ski trail). On the path a little further to the signpost "Lausitzer Weg" (1700 m). Left uphill and then diagonally right in the direction of a large rock block. Above this (1850 m) straight uphill towards rocks. Under these via a ramp to the Upper Taurernalm (2018 m). Left further into a large hollow. Now right over a ridge uphill to below the Krimmler-Tauern-House. Below this in a long traverse left to below the Tauern col. Steeply into the col (2641 m; image stone and cross). Behind the col turn left and first flat, then steeper under the summit section (attention left large cornices in the saddle!). At the end over an increasingly steep ridge straight up to the summit. Descent: same as ascent. In case of firm snow, one can also descend directly over steep slopes from the col, leaving the Tauernalm on the left.
