In the Reintal to Schneebigen Nock – a paradise for ski tourers.
Starting point is the Jausenstation Säge (1580 m); 2 km behind Rein in the Bachertal. Cross the bridge and go straight up a meadow where a forest path begins on the right. Follow this path uphill for about 0:30 hours until it ends at a crossroads (1800 m). Now follow marking No. 8 into the forest and very steeply up to about 2100 m. Then flat left into open terrain. At 2121 m the path crosses a bridge left over the stream to the Hochgallhütte (formerly Kasseler Hütte, 2276 m, about 2:00 hours from the parking lot). Direct ascent to Schneebigen Nock: Before the small bridge, climb right over moderately steep slopes and ledges. Through a hollow, head diagonally left into the valley that leads directly below the north flank of Schneebigen Nock. (If starting from the hut, reach this valley as follows: Slightly downhill under the west side of Tristennöckl, descend to the stream gorge and cross a small bridge at 2200 m to the start of the named valley.)
