Approach to the Fraganter Schutzhaus:
After the bridge over the Fragant stream, go immediately left along the Großfragant stream to the foot of the slope and over a forest road far left back to the stream gorge. Follow the road in the gorge up to a footbridge. Beyond the bridge, a narrow dragging path leads in the dense forest in switchbacks up to a flattening. This section can also be shortened over a wide clearing. Then you reach the power plant flatly, change the stream side, and now ascend on the alpine path in the lighter high forest to the Fraganter Schutzhaus. This alpine path can also be shortened over alpine meadows and forest clearings. The ascent here takes about 2 hours and overcomes 750 meters in altitude. The Fraganter hut is now the central starting point for numerous ski tours in the basin called Großfragant.

Fraganter SchutzhausSafety information
The Sadnig is only feasible under safe snow conditions. Both the approach to the Sadnigscharte and the partly steep summit climb are avalanche-prone.Tips and suggestions
Ideal tour base: Fraganter hut: http://www.fraganter-schutzhaus.atRoadbook
Shortly after leaving the hut on the alpine path, you turn into the flat alpine meadows of Zwerglalm. With gentle ups and downs, you reach a forester's house. Beyond it, the first steep section in the forest is climbed up to signposts. From here, it is flat along the Sadnig stream up to a bridge; the stream is crossed in a gorge, then it goes quite steeply in the high forest in several bends to a steep section. This is overcome in a few switchbacks. Above the terrain edge, a gentle flat high valley called Melenböden opens up.
Left of the stream gorge, a long ramp at the foot of the north faces of the Kleiner Sadnig is climbed at a moderate gradient. Passing north of the Sadnig, the steep slopes to the Sadnigscharte are approached. In a few bends, a small basin below the notch is reached. This is overcome in a left bend below the Mulleter Sadnig and thus crossed out to the Sadnigscharte. First view to Großglockner.
Now you ascend southwards on the broad ridge to a steeper narrowing. A beautiful hollow leads half right up to the steep slope of the forepeak; in a left bend, you climb the north slope as high as possible up to an indicated notch in the northeast ridge. Going around the ridge, it continues over steep east slopes to a wider flattening of the ridge. Over a ridge hump, you approach the summit block. It is first bypassed on the left, then a steep east ridge is climbed up to below the summit rocks. On the right, a short steep rock gully (possibly climbing up to I°) leads to the north ridge, which leads in a moderate gradient up to the large summit cairn and cross of the Sadnig. Magnificent panoramic view.
