Rotsandnollen is a good destination when there is still or already little snow in the lower areas. Thanks to the ski area's cable cars, you can start the route at 1900 m and ski down the prepared slope to the valley. Although the summit is only 800 meters in altitude gain, due to the considerable distance you need to allow 3-3:30 hours for the ascent. This effort is rewarded with a first-class panorama, as Rotsandnollen is the highest summit between Melchtal and Engelberg valley. The view ranges from nearby Titlis to the Bernese Alps including Finsteraarhorn and Eiger on a clear day.
