The "simplicity" of the route invites the mind to wander, but there are one or two, even if short, slopes that should be avoided by a distance in case of relevant avalanche conditions. (Wet snow avalanches in the lower section and slab avalanche danger shortly before the summit)Roadbook
With sufficient snow cover, you can park here beside the road. Whoever it is thankfully plows the road wide enough that several cars can be parked here without any problems. Otherwise, you can also drive up this road 100 meters higher. However, there are only few parking spaces here.
Even from the car, you can see the highest point of the route and thus the direction you need to take.
You stroll pleasantly over meadows, past farms, and cross one or another farm driveway.
Short steep sections alternate repeatedly with flatter ones. Too short slope sections for the slope gradient map but still steep enough for possible wet snow slides.
At about 1080 meters you come to such an area again. Since I was very late and the snow cover was soaked through, and the avalanche warning service (LLB) warned of wet snow problems, I left it to the right and detoured left through a "freshly" logged snow clearance. Past the next farm (Hechenblaiken) up to the Alm of the same name, and then left on a forest road into the woods. Soon after, you switch to the summer trail and reach alpine meadow terrain again!
At about 1580 meters into the next forest belt, which is crossed a little further left of the steep slopes. The steep final slope should only be taken "directly" under safe conditions. Over a beautiful, tiered open terrain, garnished with individual weather-resistant spruces, you reach the small lovely summit cross.
Dear friend! Hopefully there are enough mountains where you are now, and may your accident be a warning to many mountaineers!
Descent mostly on the ascent route, but the open areas invite variants.
Public transport
Public-transport-friendly
With some effort, travel by public transport is possible!
Directions
Exit the highway at Wiesing or Kramsach-Rattenberg and go directly to Reith in Alpbachtal. Drive through the village completely and turn sharply right at the last houses (signpost "cafe Bienenstich") to "Hygna" and again through the district to the last houses.
