High winter tour on the Rasass peak in the Sesvenna group.
The starting point is the car park at the entrance to the village of Schlinig (1738 m). Through the village and to the right on the farm track past the Schliniger Alm and the valley station of the material cable car to below the Schwarzwand. Turn right under the Schwarzwand and above the rock face diagonally left upwards (safety and marker poles) into the flat terrain below the Sesvennahütte. (Attention: This section is at risk of snowboarding in windy conditions and slipping in hard snow). Continue straight on to the hut; up to here approx. 2:00 hrs. From the hut there are two possibilities: a) If snow conditions are safe, climb the southern slopes above the old Pforzheimer Hut, making good use of the stepped terrain, up to the ridge (not too far to the right!). On the ridge, turn right over flatter terrain to below the steeper slopes of the pre-peak (2927 m).
