    Author’s recommendation

From the Stockerhütte to the parking lot of the Jamnighütte, a ski route taxi can be booked on the toll road (toboggan run), which is closed in winter, at +43 (0) 664 / 1301 323.

    Roadbook

From the Stockerhütte we hike behind the toll barrier along the toboggan run in eight switchbacks up to the Jamnigalm parking lot. Here we leave the alpine path to the right. The forest road leads into a wildlife sanctuary, so we immediately turn left (northwards) into the short forest strip. Behind it we enter a hollow. Here you can climb over the steep slopes to the right onto a flattening. However, we reach here by following the hollow, crossing a steep cirque, and coming over a less steep slope on the right. Now flat to the alpine (hunting) hut. Then we follow the hollow system in several stages. In a left bend up a steep slope into the summit cirque. Here, rather keeping right over the moderately steep slopes towards the southeast ridge. Below it, follow the steep hollow on the left and ascend in a right bend to the summit ridge. We follow it in a slight left bend to the already visible summit cross.

Descent along the ascent route. In the middle part of the high valley, you can also follow the Laschgbach to the right, briefly to the right of the gorge and then descend into it to the flattening in front of the Laschghütte. Now down the steep bank into the Tauern valley. After crossing the stream, we glide to the Jamnigalm. Along the toboggan run it goes back to the Stockerhütte.
