Tamsweg LudlalmSafety information
Please ascend along the roadside in the lower part of the toboggan run.Tips and suggestions
Rustic inn (with overnight accommodation) at the starting point: https://www.ludlalm.at/Roadbook
The route starts directly at Prebersee, first along a forest road which is also used as a toboggan run and is therefore usually well prepared. Those who wish can ascend along the forest road up to the Halteralm hut, but right after the first hairpin turn, the marked summer hiking trail is also available as an ascent route. Either way, you reach the last hut, just below the tree line, and from there you follow a broad ridge towards the summit. On the wide summit slope, different ascent options are available depending on snow quality and quantity. Usually, a track is already laid.
From the summit, you have a fantastic panoramic view to the south up to the Karawanks, into the Hohe Tauern in Lungau, but also towards Schladming. The descent can be freely chosen in the upper part, while in the lower part, the forest road is recommended.
