Long and rewarding ski tour in the rear Ridnaun, the side valley of the Wipptal
The ski tour starts in Maiern at the head of the Ridnaun valley. From the car park at the mining museum, first follow summer trail no. 28 or 28 A into the Lazzachertal valley to the Poschhausstollen (Poschalm) or to the hut of the Moarbergalm (closed). From here über a short rock passage (skis are to be carried) on a small hill and always further up the valley in the direction of Moarer Egetensee. Leave this lake on the right and climb up to the Egetjoch. From here you have the Botzer in your field of vision. From the Joch you ski down to the Hinteren Senner Egetensee. Now steeply up a steep flank until you reach the glacier field of the Hangenden Ferner. Go straight up the field until you reach the ridge, then keep left up the summit slope to the Botzer.
