A day’s strenuous and steep tour is needed to reach the top of the least available mountain in Trollheimen. Neådalssnota (1621 m.a.s.l) is the highest peak in the area between Snota and the mountains of Innerdalen.

    Author’s recommendation

Never seek out or enter potential avalanche terrain without proper knowledge, experience, and equipment. Always bring a beacon, avalanche probe, and shovel in your backpack. Check the weather- and the avalanche forecast at varsom.no.

Both during summer and winter, climbing Neådalssnota from the southeast is the least demanding. From the parking by Storli, continue north through the birch forest on the right side of the stream - Veslebekken. Follow the stream up towards Storbekkdalen. When you have passed the treeline, follow Storbekkdalen towards the ridge between Storbekkhøa and Halsbekkhøa.

From here you will get a few, good turns down towards Namnlausvatnet. Continue to the west-end of Sprikltjønnin. Follow the valley east of Neådalspiken. When reaching 1200 meters above sea level, the safest route is to follow the east ridge to the top. The last section is steep. Be considerate, and keep a slow paste towards the top.

Be aware of the snowdrifts and do not move too far out on the sides of the ridge.

Neådalssnota is an exposed peak with a panorama view over Snota, Folldalen, Trollhetta and the mountains in Innerdalen.
