Hindsæter Hotel
The view of Jotunheimen National Park from the top of Nautgardstiden is nothing but breathtaking. This is a classic route to one of Norway's many peaks higher than 2,000 meters above sea level.
Hindsæter is a historic hotel which was recently renovated and is located conveniently near many of the most popular trails in Jotunheimen. The hotel is open from February to April in the winter season.

Roadbook
From Hindsæter Hotel head straight north and follow the snowshoe and cross-country trail throughout the forest. Especially late in the season this is the easiest way to get past the forest line and also safest due to snow conditions. As soon as you get past the forest line, head southwest towards Nautgardstind.
There is a gradual ascent up to the highland plateau Hindflya. You reach the plateau at around 1,500 meters above sea level and start crossing the highlands. While heading towards the peak make sure you have Russlirundhøe on your left-hand side and continue up the much steeper hill towards the top. The last part is quite steep and depending on the snow conditions you should consider climbing the peak without skis.
