Northwest of the bridge, the ascent goes over alpine meadows past the farms up to a forest road. After 100 meters, an alpine path (signpost Bubenau or Kranzhorn) branches left into the forest. We then follow the signposts along a forest path to the Bubenaualm. The open alpine meadow is crossed, and then the ascent continues roughly along the summer path through the next belt of forest to the open areas of the Kranzhornalm. To the left of the alpine buildings, the path leads to a crest with an alpine cross and over it along a gentle ridge to a wide forest clearing. This steeper slope is climbed on the left side up to the sparsely forested summit ridge. Shortly past the summit chapel, the ascent with skis ends, and the last few meters to the double-crossed summit are reached via a rope-secured snow ridge.
Descent along the ascent route.

Directions
Leave the Inn Valley motorway at either the Nußdorf exit or the Oberaudorf exit, then cross the Inn and turn off towards Erl. Directly at the church in Erl, a mountain road turns east towards Spitzstein/Kranzhorn. The road is driven about 3 km up to the junction of the Bubenau forestry road. However, if the road is impassable, parking must be done lower down (possibly chains required).Parking
Limited parking spaces next to the road up to the bridge over the Dry Creek.Coordinates
