The ski tour route from Rifenal is ideally laid out through the forest so that you occasionally have to cross the slope or only touch the edge. A pleasant and safe ascent is possible. Those who have not had enough at the Venet summit can attempt the ascent to the Glanderspitze after a short descent. This requires another hour. In addition, you move into open terrain and should study the current avalanche report accordingly.
Author’s recommendation
Elegant option for a detour to the Glanderspitze. Warning! Then you move in open terrain and should consider the avalanche report accordingly.

Roadbook
From one of the upper parking lots at the valley station of the mountain railways, you walk uphill along a fence over a meadow. Where the fence ends, you reach another large meadow away from the slope, over which you can freely walk uphill. Past a lonely barn, you head for the forest edge. Here, it goes a bit steeper uphill along a forest clearing. You encounter a forest road and can now either continue flat along this road or continue a bit steeper in the forest clearing. Both options meet the slope. This is quickly crossed, and then you disappear again between sparse larch trees to continue ascending freely and away from the slope. The Zammer Alm is soon reached. Here you have already completed 2/3 of the route. From the Zammer Alm, you continue on the slope. This is not a problem since the slopes are very wide, allowing a safe ascent. In a southerly direction, you head for a saddle. Once there, you go right (west) to reach the summit of the Krahberg. The transmission mast is already visible. (To the left, you would leave the secured ski area and have the possibility to ascend the Glanderspitze). A few minutes later, the summit and at the same time the mountain station of the Venetbahn is reached. The descent takes place via the slope network back to the starting point. Here, be sure to follow the signs to Rifenal.
